CNG: Pullin' The Load

Please join Greater Indiana Clean Cities as they host CNG: Pullin' The Load, at Vectren's Corporate headquarters in Evansville, Indiana. The workshop will cover the basics of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as it relates to medium and heavy duty vehicles for fleets. CNG users will be on-hand discussing their experience with the CNG vehicles. Natural Gas powers more than 100,000 vehicles in the United States and roughly 11.2 million vehicles worldwide. The advantages of natural gas as an alternative fuel include its domestic availability, widespread distribution infrastructure, low cost compared with gasoline and diesel, and clean-burring qualities. 

• CNG vehicles meet the same safety standards as gasoline and diesel vehicles and also meet the National Fire Protection Association Vehicular Fuel System Code.
• Natural gas has a narrow flammability range and because it is lighter than air, dissipates quickly if released.
• CNG is stored on a vehicle in safe, puncture resistant tanks.
• CNG vehicles are fueled with easy-to-use, pressure sealed dispensers. Time-fill (over night) and fast fill (rapid fill) are available.
